“Mom was a psychiatric social worker. She worked with Mrs Meistermann-Seeger! Mom was (as I said) Hungarian. Her parents were Paula and Vilmos Rejto. The Anyuka someone wrote on the ancestry is in fact "little mother" I used to call my grandmother "Anyuka" because I did not know better. I was 18 months old at the time. I also speak Hungarian. My grandparents were in the Budapest ghetto during the war. Anyuka said that the Russians saved everyone there. Grandpa passed away a couple of years after the war, he was given penicillin by the US doctors, but the infection got the best of him. I never knew my grandfather. Anyu on the other hand lived with us in Paris. She had three or four heart attacks while she was with us. She came to Israel with Mom and I. She passed away on 26th April 1976, born on the 20th Jan 1886. Mom on the other hand was born on the 6th Jan 1913, passed away on the 20th June 2004.So you see, I miss both my parents! The passed away within 6 months of each other. Her name was Marta, she HATED being called Martha. She said it was not her name, and she would not listen to anyone calling her by that name. To me she was Mommy or Mom. Mom passed away in Israel, Dad in France. I have had a stroke at the tender age of 29, I cannot write, (I had Paula at 35!) Paula was born on the 25th Sept 1987, in Bethlehem, PA. She was named Paula after her maternal grandmother, Helena after her paternal grandmother, Rachel from the Bible.”
