Notes for Annette GOLDMANN
Annette writes: “I am married to an Israeli, Dan Atsmon, Prof. Emeritus from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, where I also worked for 35 years as head of the serials department in the library. We have 3 children, 6 grandchildren, who all in turn make projects for their schools about family (roots), and they go to Poland when they reach that age. They are all very interested and this postcard [from Willy Bodlaender and Lucie Lasker to Vera Cassirer] is very meaningful for them... I have - electronically, some 10 letters from my mothers relatives, the last letters, in many of them are questions about Willy, there is also a mention of his death (not Theresienstadt). “1167

“There is another dimension to this card. In 1943 we fled to Sweden, we came to Goeteborg, my mother must have gotten in touch with Vera Cassirer, and we were given the very elegant furniture of Ernst Cassirer, which was stored there. We had a little one room flat with a big kitchen, where my mother sewed. In the room we had a big dinning table and chairs, very elegant deep blue drapes, in the kitchen a white table, all from the Cassirers. When we left, we returned it. It served us very well.”1167
