Notes for Gillian Leslie CLABBY\WHITEAR
According to a friend of Gillian (John Cambridge) she studied [law] at Leeds University and was very proud that during that time (about the time of Woodstock) she was at the famous rock concert that became “The Who, Live at Leeds”.

She later worked at the office of Crown Prosecutor, Leeds. While living and working London at the Royal Courts of Justice she adopted the regional accent known as “received English”, but she said that when she returned to Sheffield she immediately changed back to “Northern”. The final residence for Pauline when she died in 2000 was in Dobcroft Rd, Sheffield.

During her life Gillian had 5 different surnames. She married Hugo Thurman d. 1988 who is believed to have been a nuclear scientist at CambridgeThey were married for less than a year before his death. She was then married to Mr Mulholland, a policemen who later became a barrister. They  divorced. It is believed that she then married a Mr Tom Cuthbert before being widowed a second time.

It seems that Gillian died in 2009. In her death notice there is no mention of dependents, and it seems that her estate went to animals.

John Cambridge also briefly met her maternal grandmother, Frances Mary Deverell  Beechey, d. 1977 who told him that all 3 of her brothers died in WW1.1442
