Notes for Benjamin Wolfe/Benjamin Zeev LEVY
He was usually called Benn. His four daughters were named in the will of his mother.

Benn was sent to England to go to school with the Rev RI Cohen, the father in law of his uncle David Lewis. Dates to be ascertained.

I believe that he was living with David Lewis at the time of the census of 1861 and is identified there under the name of Benjamin Lewis aged 16 and born in New South Wales.
His occupation was shown as apprentice.

I hold three obituaries for him, all from the scrapbook of Alroy Cohen. The longest shows the date as December 1908, but not the name of the newspaper, the second was from the Manchester Courier and the third from the British Australasian. The December 25, 1908 obituary source unknown) gives the details regarding his education, and also the information about the use to which the fortune of David Lewis was to be used.

At the time of his death in 1908 he was living at 8 Pembridge Square, Notting Hill, London.

Charles Tucker supplied me with the entry from the Burial Society of the United Synagogue where his name is shown as Benn Wolfe Levy with the Hebrew reading as Benjamin Zeev son of Eliezer Ha Levi. His status was Member of New West End Synagogue.
