Ende 2012 bekam ich von Jürgen Gramenz, der mich im Internet gefunden hatte, eine e-Mail mit einer Anfrage über Max Steinitz. Wir haben einen Max Steinitz in unserer Familie. Er ist 1873 geboren und der Sohn von Julius und Enkel von unserem Urahn Mosche Laib. J. Grametz schrieb mir, dass Max’ Sohn Kurt zunächst nach London emigrierte und später Fotograf in New York geworden sein soll. Vielleicht ist es der Max, den J. Gramenz sucht, denn auch die Vorfahren von seinem Max stammen aus Breslau – so wie viele meiner Familie. Max Steinitz starb am 31.12.1938, er hatte gerade seine Emigration vorbereitet.
